There is a bit of flaking on the bridge cover and light wear on the body edges. The Steel is also in excellent and original condition. Tweed is in excellent condition, as are the grill cloth and handle. The amp has never been serviced and works beautifully, with creamy drive and excellent volume. No modifications other than that the cloth insulation of the speaker leads were cut (not the wire, itself and we can’t tell you why).

Steel serial # 6260, Amp serial # C12446, amp and speaker production code JA (January, 1960), capacitors, tubes, and pot all dated late 1959. With well worn period hardshell case (or New HSC if you’d prefer) This one is a fabulous player on top of its darn good looks! The dynamic range is wide, with a sparkly presence, full mids, and a bold and snappy bottom end. There is a brightness and articulation heard in this guitar that is not often found in old resonators. The sound is fresh, thanks to an original cone that’s in perfect shape. The guitar plays perfectly now, with action of 7 to 8 64ths at the 12th fret and just the right amount of relief. Recent Neck reset and set-up by the hands of Marc Schoenberger (Marc’s restoration work on vintage National guitars is of the highest quality, and we’re tough judges.
