It's a pity really, because Cornerstone has been a very nice Mac GUI for SVN (I'd otherwise give it 4.5 stars), but what Assembla is doing is not the way to keep a loyal user base. When I was recommending the software for my employer a 2 or 3 years back I reached out and confirmed it was per user, as several of us had more than one machine, and Zennaware confirmed the software is licensed to the user, not the machine, and that more than one machine was permitted provided it was all for the same user.Īssembla seems to be making a huge money grab, and they don't care if they alienate their users or not. Problem is, my receipt clearly indicates my licenses were purchased per USER. And then saying if I wanted to use it on more than one device I'd have to pay per device for extra licenses. Version 4, under Assembla has had its price increase dramatically AND switch to an ANNUAL license! Plus they appear to be licensing it PER DEVICE and no longer per user.Īssmebla sent me an email saying my key was deactivated because it was installed more than the "normal rate" (without explaining what that is). Versions 1, 2, and 3 were reasonably priced and licensed per user.
